a. Mirages
[If you are out during the night and particularlygullible curious, you might find some floating green flames dancing around in the desert- they're visible enough from the city of Sunspire, but you have to go out there if you want to investigate further!
If one is very perceptive, they might pick up on the magic in use, illusion magic, fae in nature, or perhaps if you have a keen sense of smell you might pick up the scent of a large, scaly predator(a dragon) with a light mist of the scent of roses. Anyone who is at LEAST perceptive enough to not follow the green flame and instead look for it's source may even pick up on stifled laughter.
For the more easily led, that green fire will take them out into the desert far enough that finding their way back might be difficult before disembodied laughter becomes very much embodied, a young teenager sporting black dragon horns on his head floating out of reach and laughing impishly at his "prank" gone well.]
b. Curiosity
[He eventually makes it back to the city. It probably takes longer than he'd like, but he is not immune to harsh sunlight, hunger, nor thirst. That said, he is a fairy without any memory, so commerce is actually really a daunting prospect at this time! So as he takes to the market but after a few failed bartering attempts he goes to find somesucker friendly-looking fellow to accost.]
Hello, mortal. Come, assist me in attaining sustenance, and I shall owe you a boon.
[He could probably not start by calling someone "mortal", as he shouldn't assume!!! But he doesn't really feel inclined to think too hard on it. They're probably not fae, he is sure!]
c. WILDCARD
[OOC: Feel free to encounter Malleus anywhere, he is a wanderer! He has no memories at this point, not even his name. If you have questions/concerns/wish to plot, you can hit me up via PM or at

I hope you aren't going to deceived by appearances, fae. There's beauty to be found within. Look.
[ Which involves the stick being thrown at the fae- Catch! A present. But of course, the danger is in the unexpected. ]
That which is touched by this blessed bough,
May find their strength deplete and fall.
Bound of all beyond mortal skill,
Cleansed only by a kiss of water's mist.
Fairest One of All.
[ A gentle incantation on the stick, which endangers anyone beyond himself and attempts to bind their non-human powers temporarily. Hope you didn't decide to actually catch the stick, little fae. ]
no subject
And because it's funnier and more interesting for it to work, his magic has been lessened enough that the curse sticks, and the fairy falls from the sky into the sand, landing ungracefully and ending up on his face with an "Oof!".
Grumbling, he gets up and tosses the stick aside angrily.]
Now what was that for?!
no subject
That is to punish you for tricking people. Now, call off your wisps, or I'll punish you some more, fae.
[ He moves a hand to his waist, holding the stick down by his side. ]
You'll be at the level of a human's magic until I decide to remove the curse. So you'd best behave.
no subject
[He huffs, stomping his feet and blowing puffs of green fire that's considerably less dangerous than usual. He does dismiss the fairy lights, but he's very displeased about it!]
I don't want to play with you anymore anyway!
no subject
[ He smirks then. ]
Well? I could remove my curse if you behave and apologize, and give you something sweet and cool to have. It's so hot out here, isn't it?
[ He's being a bully, but this fae acting like a little baby is kind of adorable. ]
no subject
No no, that is stupid. I did not force you to follow my lights, you could have ignored it easily! You followed me out here on your own, I had used no more magic than needed to hide and dangle a light ahead of you!
no subject
[ He approaches him, cloak fluttering behind him as he moves. ]
Now cease your puffing and tell me what you were doing out here. And no tricks, or the curse stays.
no subject
I was doing naught! I only wanted to see how you looked after wandering, then you would have been deposited from whence you came.
[He turns his nose up imperiously. He is sure that he could have been meaner if he wished and it would be within his right, but he didn't have anything in mind other than to entertain himself. To be cursed like this instead...!!! The outrage!
It isn't enough actual outrage for him to try to remove the curse by brute force though. It isn't enough that he wants to get any more revenge other than inconveniencing the mage in some annoying way, but it is enough that he has to throw a little tantrum before he is able to be reasonable.]
Now undo your curse on me, and I will be merciful! Maybe you will only have to suffer a rock in one of your shoes every time you put them on.
no subject
[ He lifts his head haughtily, before spinning his stick-cane stylishly and setting it back in the strap on his back. ]
Though I suppose you don't care for something sweet and cool. A pity.
[ He did gather some sugar earlier, and he'll be making himself a little ice ball with it that he'll hover in his palm, before unlatching his veil mask and sucking a little on it to cool himself. ]
no subject
....
Sweet? I've just spotted something sweet, yes! Why didn't you tell me you'd such a lovely face? Ah, it is rude of me indeed to inconvenience someone possessing beauty like yours.
[The fairy quickly experiences the very dragonlike instinct to want to take a princess and keep him in his hoard, although he pretty quickly remembers that he has no hoard that he knows of, not even a lair in which to start one. That thought makes him deflate, switching quickly to another mood.]
Curses...
I've really made a fool of myself this day.
no subject
... I suppose I can't fault you for having good taste.
[ What is that reaction, even... ]
What are you sad about now? Come here and have some of this ice orb before it evaporates completely.
no subject
[He's a failure of a fairy! He couldn't even do one prank right. He mopes, but he does come nearer to investigate the ice on offer.]
no subject
[ He lets the ice orb evaporate a little and floats it over to the fae. ]
I hope that's not a ploy to steal mine. I have mine but I can't remember anyone else's. Now stop sulking and have that.
no subject
[Don't think too much about the logic. It's fairy stuff.
He is a little hesitant at first, but then will accept the orb of ice, just opening his mouth up and trying to bite it. He's not very good at this 'desert' stuff yet.]
no subject
... Right. Then we should think of something to call you. I can't very well go around calling you Fae. It's not polite.
[ He seemed fine saying it otherwise, though. ]
What about Drago? Your horns look like dragons I've seen in books.
no subject
"Drago"? Hmm! Well I am a dragon, that's why my horns are like this.
I will accept the name given, if I can have my magic back. I'd truly rather not have to break this curse myself, and I'd even transport us both back to the city if you would be so kind. Consider it my apology for my rudeness.
no subject
[ He tilts his head thoughtfully. ]
I suppose I could accept it if you transported me back, safely, back into the city, and near the residences.
[ He knows he needs to be specific with fairies! He's read the stories! ]
... You will need to come closer so I can give you the kiss to break the spell.
no subject
I remember naught of my life, but I am certain I am a dragon! Wings and flame, scale and claw! Though I woke in this form, I can feel it in my blood.
[Oh...? He gets his curse broken AND a kiss? This is win/win. He's nearly forgotten that he didn't have a curse on him when this began!
He looks pleased with himself as he trots over, happy to also get a closer look at the pretty mortal.]
Very well then. I agree to your terms, mage.
no subject
Very well, then! ]
Vil. That is a name you can call me.
[ He'll also bring a hand to the fae's cheek to draw his face in close, and-
Let the ice orb hover between them, before letting a little fire spell concentrate with a wind spell to evaporate it a bit between their mouths and spray on his mouth. ]
Cleansed only by a kiss of water's mist.
[ That was his incantation, and with that, the curse shall break. But he'll give the fae a kiss to the corner of his mouth. ]
Behave and I may consider giving you an actual kiss sometime, Drago.
no subject
He breathes in through his nose, straightening up his posture and huffing out some green flames, reinvigorated by the teasing of a kiss from a lovely human and by the fact that his magic is returned.]
Hoh, a fairy only behaves in the way they are meant to~
[He gives a crooked little grin, raising a finger and twirling it as he uses transference magic to plop the two of them right at the edge of town where they had started.]
But we shall see. I will have my eye on you, Vil.
