[Niki isn't good at a lot of things, but if there's one thing he can do, it's foraging, so when the bakers ask for help, Niki is almost too enthusiastic to sign up. If anyone is nearby considering a job, Niki turns to them with enthusiasm:]
Are you thinking of heading to the ruins, too? I'll do anything when I'm hungry, but I'd like it a lot better if I didn't have to go alone!

If anyone is into hunting, could you maybe consider bringing me along? I don't like doing unnecessary things, but I think it might be important for me to learn. [Niki isn't too eager to bring up what Rinne doesn't remember, specifically, because that's a pretty personal thing—Rinne's never liked showing too much of himself. It only feels right to leave it up to Rinne to decide if he wants to talk about it or not.

I know he's kind of a pain, but I'd really appreciate it if you could help me keep an eye on him. He's always trying to get into trouble when he thinks people aren't looking. Well, also when people are looking, I guess...
But we don't know anything about this place.

Oh, don't worry ...I am unfortunately very aware of Rinne-san's troublesome nature. He caused me quite a lot of grief in The Place. At least that hasn't changed.
[He wonders if he's forgotten everything, too. Better to prepare for that, just in case.]

[If Mayoi thinks he might have died, then Niki can't even begin to imagine what sort of "grief" Rinne might have caused in a place like that. A part of him is curious, definitely, but he's also afraid. But... if it's something he can't remember, and somehow, they're all still here, then maybe it's okay if he doesn't ask right now.]
I hope it's nothing, too. I think a lot of people would be pretty upset with me if I let something bad happen to you two! But I'm also glad none of us are alone here, either.
