[Niki isn't in the mood to rest, but it doesn't hurt to take a look at the place they'll be calling home for now. He doesn't get very far in his exploration of the apartments before a phuji crosses his path, presumably being chased out of someone's room. Maybe it's yours?

Niki has no idea what it is, but his eyes light up when he sees it anyway.]

[Niki isn't good at a lot of things, but if there's one thing he can do, it's foraging, so when the bakers ask for help, Niki is almost too enthusiastic to sign up. If anyone is nearby considering a job, Niki turns to them with enthusiasm:]

Are you thinking of heading to the ruins, too? I'll do anything when I'm hungry, but I'd like it a lot better if I didn't have to go alone!

[A few days have passed since their arrival and nothing has changed. They're still stuck here. Niki feels sick, and it's probably the lack of food, but it's not just that.]

Hi, hi~! If anyone can hear me, please reply! I've got a really huge favor to ask. I think food probably isn't going to be really easy to get here, so... If anyone is into hunting, could you maybe consider bringing me along? I don't like doing unnecessary things, but I think it might be important for me to learn. [...] Um, see, I'm a chef, so I think this might be the best way for me to help out around here.

I'll do literally anything! Well, I'm also an idol, so I'd really prefer not to sell my body if I don't have to, but I'm really desperate here!

[What response in a panic is ...a very familiar voice! Mayoi comes running out of the room after the little puff ball. Though ...he looks a little different from what Niki might remember if he pays attention.]

[His hair is short, above his shoulders and his signature ribbon is tied in his hair behind his ear.]

...A-ah! Shiina-san?!

[Niki's body moves before his brain can even consider things, like, maybe the puff ball is dangerous? Maybe it will hurt him before he can eat it? None of that matters. He dives after the puff ball...!

...unfortunately, he misses it, but he smells something even more delicious than the puff ball, so he forgets about it immediately and turns toward the voice calling out to him.]

Whoa, Mayo-chan?! Is that really you? I knew I smelled something really tasty in this building! I was so right to come here!

Wait, did you get a haircut? ...when did you get a haircut?

[It's very possible that Niki just didn't notice before. But he is noticing it now, so that's a little weird...]

HIEE!

[Oh god, there he goes. Luckily Fuwa-tan has escaped, bouncing off into another crevice of this strange place. He is a little relieved for once to have Shiina’s attention, though he can’t help the nervous little noise he makes.]

Ah… H-Hello Shiina-san. It’s good to see a familiar face a-

[A small pause, and then with some hesitation.]

…Do you not remember…? It’s been this way for some time. The coffin burned of my braid.

[Niki straightens up, turning his full attention toward Mayoi. The look on his face isn't just surprised, it's also kind of alarmed!]

Oh, I get it! Are you guys working on a Halloween song? It's a little early for that, though, I think. Or maybe "late" is better?

[He definitely doesn't pay attention to every single idol groups' acts, so it's also very possible he missed that, too. But now that he thinks about it, didn't they already do something like that...?]

I'm seriously relieved to see you, though! I was starting to think I was on my own, too.

I am …truthfully very unsure of the date myself. [Incredibly so, honestly. ES feels so far away from him, does he even remember when it was for him?]

Mm. If there is the two of us …then perhaps there are more. We- should look but perhaps first we should find you something to eat…?

Nahaha, I'll try my best, but honestly, words aren't my strong suit at all~. People are always telling me I say the strangest things!

But anyway, no, I don't know anything about weapons. I have some basic survival skills, but that's about it.

I know how to use a staff which is not exactly the easiest to hunt with...but you'll just have to learn to make do as a beginner. [Thinking] Come on. I can show you how to corral some monsters at least. We'll work on some easy ones first.
